Wilmont Avenue…
Plans are to repave Wilmont Avenue from E. Beau to N. Wade in 2016.
Columbia Gas…
In 2016 Columbia Gas will be working in our borough replacing lines to 200+ homes. The work is extensive and will be ongoing for the entire year, starting in January. Columbia Gas will notify you about a borough meeting in January for residents to discuss the work. Below are the areas affected.
Paper Shredding & Drug Collection ….
This EW project has been most successful. We will again have it in May 2016.
Leaf Pickup…
Our Road Supervisor, Aaron Lucero, has received many calls to thank the borough for the great job in
picking up the leaves this fall. The much- needed new leaf box and leaf machine helped extensively.
Snow Removal…
We bought a new snowplow and hopper spreader for the salt. Snow removal will be done as needed. Please remember our ordinances require residents to keep their sidewalks clear in the winter.
Branch Pickup…
The first Monday of each month from March to November bundled branches will be picked up at the curb.
Stop and Street Signs…
In 2016 the remainder of stop signs will be replaced. New street signs will be ordered and replacement will begin in 2016.
Street Sweeper Clean Up Day
will be done in May 2016.
Curb Painting
will start in the Spring of 2016.
New Chief of Police…
David Bradley is now our Chief of Police and doing an outstanding job for the residents. Chief Bradley would like to remind everyone to always lock your car. We have had 30 cars entered and items stolen over the past several months.
NRA Gun Safety Class …
Class will be held in February with Chief Bradley and a NRA instructor. We are currently setting up the program for our residents. Cost and location not confirmed yet. Please contact V. Pres. Mary Taufer @ 724 228 1313 or mary.taufer@comcast.net if you have an interest in attending. Class sizes will be limited to 15-20.
First class is information and instruction. Second class is at a firing range with your gun and ammo.
EW Street Lights…
West Penn Power has completed replacement of all unlit lights in the borough in November.
Electronics Collection…
Washington County is pleased to announce that they are starting a MONTHLY ELECTRONICS COLLECTION at the Washington Fairgrounds, starting January 5, 2016. TVs, computer equipment, Freon appliances ($15 charge), and fluorescent bulbs/tubes ($1 per bulb charge) will be accepted. 2-5:00p.m. Exhibit Hall 1
